The movement in these 168.025 models is removed from the front of the case. Tool 105 crystal removing tool, or a generic substitute, applies pressure on the crystal. There is a two-part stem assembly that separates and then the movement is removed by a simple quarter revolution twist. The movement is accessed through the dial side- I'd say leave that to a watchmaker, as the crown with the split stem need to be removed first, and then a special pump has to be used in order to increase the pressure, so that the crystal pops out. A crystal lift can be used as well, although it tends to leave marks on the crystal.
The first step is actually to remove the stem/crown. This is a split stem so you need to apply some force to pull it out straight. You already know how to remove the bezel (the ring you describe). I tried a couple of test runs and was confident I could gently pressurise the case, so off I went. Unfortunately, using one hand to open the valve as well as hold the adapter to the crown tube, while the other hand hold the watch, robs one .
